The Film Club of MES Asmabi College, in association with the Department of Digital Film Production, organized a special screening of Anora, an Oscar-winning film, on March 13, 2025. The event was exclusively arranged for the college staff and was held at the Mini Theatre on campus. The screening was part of an ongoing initiative to promote film appreciation and discussion among faculty members. Dr. Reena Mohamed PM, the Principal of MES Asmabi College, addressed the gathering, emphasizing the importance of cinema as an art form and its ability to inspire thought-provoking discussions. Following the screening, an interactive discussion was held where attendees shared their thoughts on the film’s themes, cinematography, and performances. The faculty members engaged in a meaningful dialogue about the director’s storytelling techniques and the film’s deeper messages. Many appreciated the raw and realistic portrayal of human experiences, which made the film deeply impactful. The discussion also explored how cinema can be used as a medium for social commentary.
