On March 10, 2025, MES Asmabi College Film Club, in collaboration with the Department of Digital Film Production, hosted a special screening of the critically acclaimed film Wadjda to celebrate Women’s Day. The event aimed to highlight the themes of empowerment, resilience, and the pursuit of dreams, resonating deeply with the audience. Dr. Reena Mohamed PM, Principal of MES Asmabi College, attended the screening, marking her support for the initiative. Her presence reinforced the importance of such events in promoting meaningful discussions on gender representation and social change. 36 staff and students participated in the screening, making it an engaging and thoughtprovoking experience. The attendees actively discussed the film’s significance in portraying gender roles, societal challenges, and the determination of women to break barriers. The screening took place at the Mini Theatre at 1:30 PM and was free for all attendees.
