On December 15, 2023, the Department of Psychology at MES Asmabi College, in collaboration with the Community Mental Health Enhancement Program, organized an insightful skill development training session focused on the screening of Specific Learning Disabilities (SLD). The event was led by Anjana Ajith, a renowned clinical psychologist, founder, and CEO of Kaizen. The session took place from 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM in the college's seminar hall, drawing a considerable number of participants eager to deepen their understanding of SLD and enhance their screening skills. The program began with a welcome speech by the Head of the Department of Psychology and Assistant Professor, Lathif Penath. His address emphasized the importance of early detection and intervention in managing learning disabilities, highlighting how such initiatives are crucial for both educational institutions and the broader community. He appreciated the presence of Anjana Ajith, noting her significant contributions to the field of clinical psychology and her innovative work at Kaizen. Anjana Ajith commenced her session by providing a comprehensive overview of Specific Learning Disabilities, explaining the various types, including dyslexia, dysgraphia, and dyscalculia.
