The programme started at 11.00 AM after admitting all participants by 10.45 AM. The speaker joined the programme from her office. Principal Dr. A Biju conveyed his best wishes to the programme and it was inaugurated by Dr. Asma V M, Vice Principal of the College. Dr. Kesavan K welcomed the guest and other participants. Sr. Shibu A Nair, Associate Professor, Department of Aquaculture delivered felicitations. Dr. Mini Sekharan congratulated the students for opting Aquaculture as their programme of study as the field deals with the fundamental needs of human existence namely healthy food and decent living. Aquaculture and related sectors offer plenty of opportunities on food production, food processing and ornamental fish business. She started with a captivating and professional slide show on various arenas of fisheries sector. Minute details of self employment in fish/finfish farming, hatcheries, aquafeed manufacturing, seafood processing, by-product and value added product making, pharmaceutical/nutraceutical production, ornamental fish production and breeding etc. were discussed.
