Student Grievance Redressal Committee (SGRC)

The Student Grievance Redressal Committee (SGRC) is an essential mechanism in educational institutions designed to address and resolve grievances raised by students. It ensures that students have a platform to express their concerns and that those concerns are dealt with in a fair and systematic manner. The committee works to maintain a harmonious and supportive environment in the institution by resolving issues related to academic matters, faculty behavior, administrative procedures, and student facilities. By having an established grievance redressal process, the institution demonstrates its commitment to upholding the rights and well-being of its students.

At the department level, the Grievance Redressal Cell consists of the Head of the Department (HOD) as the Chairman, a course teacher, and one senior teacher as members. This committee is responsible for addressing grievances that are specific to a particular department or course. It ensures that issues such as unfair grading, faculty-related complaints, or course-related problems are swiftly and fairly addressed. The department-level cell plays a crucial role in providing immediate solutions and support to students facing challenges in their academic journey.

On a broader scale, the college-level Student Grievance Redressal Committee (SGRC) is composed of the Principal as the Chairman, a faculty advisor, two senior teachers, and two staff council members, one of whom is an elected representative. This committee handles grievances that extend beyond the department level, such as college-wide issues concerning student welfare, infrastructure, and institutional policies. By having both department-level and college-level grievance redressal bodies, the SGRC ensures that students' concerns are systematically heard and resolved at the appropriate levels, contributing to an effective and supportive academic environment.
