The Department of Fish Processing Technology organized an Indian Knowledge System (IKS) programme titled “Exploring the Indigenous Coastal Fisheries Heritage” on 26th February 2026 at Azhikode coastal area. The area was selected not only because it serves as the nearest fish landing centre to MES Asmabi College, but also due to its strong community engagement in traditional fishing, fish processing practices, and fishing gear knitting activities. The programme aimed to expose students to indigenous coastal fisheries knowledge and traditional fish processing techniques practiced by local communities.
