Report on International Conference – ICAMIS 2026 The PG Department of Physics, MES Asmabi College, Kodungallur, successfully organized the International Conference on Advanced Materials for Innovation and Sustainability (ICAMIS 2026) in hybrid mode on 3rd and 4th February 2026. The conference aimed to provide an international platform for researchers, academicians, and students to share recent developments and innovations in advanced materials and interdisciplinary scientific research. Inaugural Session The inaugural session was held on 3 February 2026 at 10.00 a.m. in the New Seminar Hall. The session began with a warm welcome address by Ms. Soumya S, Head of the PG Department of Physics. The presidential address was delivered by Dr. Sameena Kalathodi, Principal of MES Asmabi College. The conference was formally inaugurated by Prof. Dr. M. Junaid Bushiri, Honorable Vice Chancellor of CUSAT, who emphasized the importance of advanced materials research in technological development and sustainable innovation. Felicitations were offered by Dr. Sanand C. Sadanandakumar, Vice Principal; Dr. K. P. Sumedhan, Self Financing Director; and Dr. Dhanya P. R, IQAC Coordinator. The inaugural session concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Ebitha Eqbal, Conference Coordinator. ICAMIS schedule Technical Sessions – Day 1 The technical sessions commenced after the inauguration. Session 1 featured a talk by Dr. Anoop K. K., Assistant Professor, CUSAT, on Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy: An Emerging Tool for Rapid Elemental Analysis, highlighting modern analytical techniques. Session 2 was delivered by Dr. Sebin Devasia, Assistant Professor at PSG Institute of Technology and Applied Research, Coimbatore, who discussed autonomous discovery in energy materials, focusing on computational and materials innovation. The evening online session (Session 3) was handled by Dr. Virginia G, Postdoctoral Fellow at Freie Universität Berlin, who presented research on Fractional chiral currents in step edges of Weyl semimetals, introducing advanced concepts in condensed matter physics. The day also included extensive paper presentation sessions, providing an opportunity for research scholars and students to present their work and interact with experts. ICAMIS schedule Technical Sessions – Day 2 The second day began with Session 4, delivered online by Dr. Jojo P. Joseph, Research Scientist at the University of Buffalo, New York, on Building custom polymers for next-generation photonics, highlighting emerging photonic materials. Session 5 was delivered by Prof. Dr. Sabu Thomas, Former Vice Chancellor of Mahatma Gandhi University, who shared valuable insights into advanced materials research and interdisciplinary scientific developments. Paper presentation sessions continued in parallel venues, encouraging active academic participation and discussion among delegates. ICAMIS schedule Valedictory Session The conference concluded with the valedictory session held on 4 February 2026 at 3.00 p.m. Certificates were distributed to participants and presenters, and organizers expressed gratitude to invited speakers, delegates, faculty members, and student volunteers for their wholehearted support in making the conference a grand success.
