As part of Gramika 2025, an e-waste collection campaign was conducted by MES Asmabi College on 26/09/2025.The PG Department of Physics and M.Com Finance selected Ward 12 of Mathilakam Grama Panchayat for the collection drive. A notice specifying the types of acceptable e-waste materials was distributed to the households in Ward 12 with the support of the ward member, Smt. Malathy Subramanian. The students were divided into six groups and assembled at various locations within the ward, along with the assigned teachers. The mission began at 9:30 AM under the leadership of HOD Smt. Soumya S, along with faculty coordinators Dr. Jeemol P.A., Dr. Rameena K.A., Ms. Athira Anilan, and student coordinator Sajith. There were approximately 500 houses in the ward. The students participated actively in the campaign, collecting various electronic items such as mobile phones, chargers, LED TVs, computer monitors, CPUs, and other e-waste materials. Most families responded positively to the initiative. The collection drive was completed by 12:30 PM. The enthusiastic participation of students and teachers contributed greatly to the success of the campaign.
