In connection with Pi Approximation Day, the Department of Mathematics organized a photography competition on July 22, 2025 with the theme”Mathematics in Nature.” The event aimed to encourage students to observe and appreciate the mathematical patterns, shapes, and concepts present in the natural world. A total of four students participated in the competition, each submitting photographs that creatively captured mathematical ideas such as symmetry, geometry, patterns, and the Fibonacci sequence as seen in natural settings. After careful evaluation of the entries, Akhil Satheesh, Bcom Finance 1st year student, was declared the winner of the competition for his outstanding photograph that beautifully illustrated the theme. The Head of the Department of Mathematics, Dr. Nasreen, distributed the prize and congratulated all participants for their enthusiasm and creative efforts. She also highlighted the significance of Pi Approximation Day and the relevance of mathematics in everyday life, including the natural world.
