Manoneetham 2025 was a community-based initiative organized by the Department of Psychology, MES Asmabi College, in collaboration with the CMHEP Project. The program aimed to identify and support children with learning disabilities at the primary level, focusing on students up to the 4th standard in Sree Narayanapuram Panchayath. This free assessment camp served both as an early intervention effort and a community outreach initiative. The camp was inaugurated with the presence of local leaders and academic dignitaries who emphasized the importance of early detection of learning challenges. Prior to the assessments, 50 psychology students were trained by Dr. Raheemudheen, Clinical Psychologist, to conduct assessments using a customized screening tool developed for the event. The training covered identifying learning difficulties, administering tools, and interpreting results. Held from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, the camp attracted around 350 participants, reflecting strong community interest. Students were assessed for difficulties in reading, writing, comprehension, attention, and cognitive skills. A total of 150 students were flagged for further intervention. The program provided a valuable learning experience for psychology students while addressing a significant educational and mental health concern at the grassroots level. The department plans to follow up with tailored interventions and expand future camps using refined tools and technological support. Manoneetham 2025 successfully combined academic expertise and community service, laying a foundation for sustained efforts in learning disability awareness, early intervention, and inclusive education.
