The Department of Mass Communication and Journalism successfully conducted a Workshop for Beginners on HTML Basics on 2nd December 2025 at the BCA Lab. The session was facilitated by Muhammed Fazil from Brototype and was attended by 40 students eager to enhance their web development skills. Workshop Overview The workshop aimed to introduce students to the fundamental concepts of HTML, enabling them to build basic web pages and understand the structure of websites. It was designed as a hands-on session, ensuring that participants could practice coding alongside the instructor. Key Highlights Introduction to HTML: Basic structure of an HTML document, tags, and attributes. Formatting Text & Links: Paragraphs, headings, bold, italics, and hyperlinks. Lists & Tables: Creating ordered/unordered lists and structuring tables. Forms & Inputs: Basics of user input fields and forms in HTML. Practical Implementation: A guided exercise where students created a simple webpage. Outcome & Impact Skill Development: Participants gained hands-on experience in writing HTML code. Interactive Learning: The session encouraged active engagement through live coding exercises. Encouragement for Further Learning: Many students expressed interest in advancing their web development skills beyond the basics. Conclusion The Workshop on HTML Basics was a valuable learning experience for students, equipping them with foundational web development skills.
