The Department of Mass Communication and Journalism  recently organized a photography competition titled "Mazhayorma" on July 9,2024 held in memory of the legendary photojournalist Victor George. Renowned for his iconic rain photography, Victor George’s legacy served as the inspiration for this competition, which was centered around the captivating theme of Rain. The competition attracted an enthusiastic response from students, photographers, and photo enthusiasts from various departments. Participants were invited to capture the essence of rain, portraying its beauty, moods, and the stories it evokes. The entries showcased diverse interpretations, ranging from nature’s refreshing showers to the human connection with rain. A distinguished panel of judges, faculty members from the Department of Mass Communication, evaluated the submissions based on creativity, technical skill, and the ability to convey the theme. During the award ceremony, Dr. Reena Muhammed ,Principal appreciated the participants for their creativity and dedication. The first prize was awarded to Ramshad C A for the photograph of mosque drenched in rain . The second prize went to Mujeeb Rahman, whose image portrayed the joy of children playing in the rain. The event concluded with a tribute to Victor George, celebrating his contribution to photojournalism and his unmatched ability to immortalize the magic of rain through his lens. The competition not only honored his memory but also encouraged young talents to explore the art of rain photography.
