On 1st January 2025, 29 students and 4 teachers from the B.Sc. Mathematics department visited Sangama Grama Madhava Mana, the birthplace of Madhava, the founder of the Kerala School of Mathematics. The visit began with a warm welcome and an introduction to Madhava’s life and his pioneering contributions to infinite series and trigonometry. A guided tour of the Mana provided insights into the historical and cultural significance of the location. An expert talk by Rajkumar Namboothiri, the 6th generation of Sangramagrama Madhavan was conducted to elaborate on Madhava’s works, including his groundbreaking infinite series for π and other trigonometric functions, followed by an interactive Q&A session.
