On October 24, 2024, the Sree Narayana Puram Panchayat Biodiversity Management Committee, in collaboration with the CEtC Hornbill Foundation, successfully conducted the second phase of a workshop for volunteers on preparing a Strategy Action Plan. This event marked another milestone in strengthening community-based biodiversity conservation efforts, where survey for the LBSAP was finalised and volunteers were trained. The workshop began with an inaugural ceremony presided over by the Panchayat President, M.S. Mohanan. The technical session was led by Dr. Amitha Bachan, assistant professor, department of botany, A total of 118 persons from 16 wards of the panchayath and student volunteers from reserach department of botany, MES Asmabi College were participated. Ms Devika M Anilkumar and Aswin Krishan, PhD Scholors coordinated the program. The participatory training focussed on assessing biodiversity, climate change and environemntal indicators and planned the survey team ready for 21 grids of the study area. Â
