On September 5, 2024,  Department of Mass Communication organized an Interdepartmental debate competition on the topic “ are women safe in the Malayalam Film industry?. The debate topic has significant relevance in the current scenario especially after the release of the Hema committee report. The competition was organised at the Alumni Square of the college. Five  teams participated in the competition with utmost interest. Each team had two members. In the initial stage, strong arguments were raised by the participants. The first prize in this debate competition was secured by the group of  Najad, a first year undergraduate student of B. Vok Digital Film Production Department, and Aarti, third year student of the Department of Psychology. The competition was  Inaugurated by  Dr Sumedhan,Self financing director of the college. Dr Sananth (Assistant Professor of the Political Science Department) and Dr. Jaysi  (Assistant Professor of the Malayalam Department) participated as judges of the competition. They  evaluated the argumentation style and rebuttals of the participants and announced the winners. The winners were honoured with a cash prize by the college principal Dr Reena Muhammed
