On November 16, 2024, students from Panangad Higher Secondary School (HSS) visited our campus as part of an educational exposure visit aimed at enhancing their understanding of ecosystem conservation and sustainable practices. The visit included a series of interactive sessions and guided tours to various facilities on the campus, providing the students with valuable insights into the importance of ecological restoration and the conservation of threatened plant species in relation with exposure to higher education and reserach careers. The students began their visit at the riparian nursery, where they observed the cultivation and propagation techniques of riparian plant species critical to maintaining the health of riverine ecosystems. The library complex served as another significant stop for the students. Here, they explored the exhibition centre, which showcased various educational exhibits on ecosystems, conservation, and biodiversity. Ms Devika M Anilkumar, Rufford Fellow interacted with students on threatened species conservation and collaborated efforts with IUCN. This was folloowed by Film screening, and interaction with Ecologist Dr. Amitha Bachan KH on Sustainable Devlopment Goals and Climate change.
