  The classes of newly admitted first year UG classes officially began on 30th of August 2023. But the admission process closed only in the first week of October. The programme was held as a part of orienting the newly admitted students to their programme of study.  The inaugural session started at 10.00 AM with a prayer by Ms. Sreekkutty, I Semester student. Dr. K Kesavan, HoD batch welcomed the gathering. Principal Dr. A Biju delivered the presidential address during which he spoke of the resource person’s suitability to lead the programme and the distinctiveness of B.Sc. Aquaculture programme. Sri. Shibu A Nair, Associate Professor and class tutor gave a brief felicitation speech. Formal vote of thanks to the inaugural session was delivered by Dr. Dhanya P R.   The career guidance session  began at 10.30 AM. Dr. Ginson Joseph congratulated the students for opting B.Sc. Aquaculture for their UG study.  Aquaculture being a sector of food production As gained grip on global economy not only as a bread winner but a bloomed industry bringing big quantum of foreign exchange to the nation. Blue economy has already emerged as a sector of substance for business and trade.               The resource person elaborated the relevance and significance of aquaculture and allied sectors as the most potent industry to earn foreign exchange and elevate the living conditions, improve nutrition security and contribute to the GDP growth of the nation.             Dr. Ginson gave his experiences as a student of aquaculture starting from his school education presenting himself as an average student till graduation. He attributed his academic achievements to his own hard work, perseverance, and his focus on ambition. He advised the students regarding the concerted efforts from inner mind to conquer heights in life.  The manthra of success resides on self confidence, he reiterated.             The interaction session lasted for 30 minutes after the lecture. Ajay, Sadhiya, Niveditha, and Sharafas made their queries on various aspects including the scope of higher studies in foreign countries, engaging in entrepreneurships, internships and research aspirations. Dr. Ginson answered them with added enthusiasm to satiate their questions.             A brief oral feedback on the session was given by Sharafas, the student of the first semester.  Dr. Dhanya P R delivered formal vote of thanks. The gathering was dissolved after reciting national anthem.      OUTCOME The attendees were immensely benefitted by the session as the resource person is a very experienced expert as man of tremendous exposure to various careers in Fisheries and Aquaculture prior to his current position. The students were able to raise questions without any hesitation due to his friendly and open approach. They got a vivid picture of variety and variability of opportunities after the completion of UG and PG in Aquaculture. The feedback given below clearly indicate the level of success of te programme conducted.
