First year and second year UG students of mathematics  along with Dr Sanand C , Smt Nasreen A, Smt Sabeena P A and Smt Keerathana S V collected electronic waste from SN Puram Ward 4. The ward member Ms Jibimol had informed all the families about the E waste collection through the whatsapp group of the ward. Students  gathered infront of Sreekrishna Temple  around 10 am ward member reached the venue at 10.30 am and she gave an idea of the routes we have to cover. After dividing the groups and giving the instructions, the collection was started around 10.45 am. Seven groups with 6 students  were formed and all the groups dispersed to various sides of the ward.  There were around 550 houses in the ward and accordingly each group were instructed to cover 75 houses. They were collected cooler, emergency lamp,  switch boards, LED Televisions, chargers, moile phones and other electronic items. Few house members complained that they were not informed by the ward member but most of the families cooperated with us.  The collection was completed by 12.45 pm. After giving a small refreshment the group was dispersed. it was good experience for our students .
