On November 17, 2023, the Mass Communication Department hosted the "Turn Up" reporting contest in the Media Lab, marking the celebration of Journalism Day. The event witnessed the active participation of nine enthusiastic contestants from diverse academic backgrounds. As the pulse of the competition quickened, MSc Physics student Asif Mohammed emerged victorious, securing the first prize for his exceptional reporting skills. Following closely, MA English student Sumayya claimed the second prize, showcasing a commendable display of journalistic prowess. The prize distribution ceremony was an honor, with Vice Principal Dr. Reena Mohammed presenting the awards. The contest not only highlighted the department's commitment to fostering journalistic talent but also showcased the diverse skills and interests of students across various academic disciplines.
