Department of Digital Film Production celebrated World Environment Day by organizing a documentary screening event called 'Plant Reels.' The venue was the Media Lab at MES Asmabi College, P. Vemballur. The event aimed to create awareness among the college community about environmental issues in the Amazon rainforest, with a focus on the documentary 'Guardians of Amazon.'   Rasidha MS, the Staff Coordinator, delivered the welcome speech, emphasizing the significance of World Environment Day and the importance of the documentary screening. Mynag Suresh, the Head of the Department of Digital Film Production, delivered the Presidential address, urging students to become environmental guardians. Prof Dr. A Biju, the Principal of MES Asmabi College, inaugurated the event, highlighting the role of the Amazon rainforest in maintaining ecological balance. Dr. Sanand Sadanandan, the Head of the Political Science Department, delivered a presentation on the environmental challenges faced by the rainforest, emphasizing its biodiversity and the role of local communities in conservation. The screening of 'Guardians of Amazon' depicted the struggles and triumphs of activists fighting to protect the rainforest. It showcased the devastating impacts of deforestation and mining on biodiversity and indigenous cultures. The documentary inspired the audience to take action.
