The Department of Economics  organized an Orientation Program on the 5th of October 2023 in the Seminar Hall. The purpose of this program was to welcome the newly admitted students, introduce them to the faculty, and provide essential information about the department and college. The program commenced with a prayer led by Farhana K S. Dr. Haseena V A, Head of the Department, delivered the welcome speech. She extended a warm welcome to the new students, emphasizing the importance of education in shaping their future. Dr. A. Biju, the Principal of MES Asmabi College, delivered the presidential address. He shared his insights and encouraged the students to make the most of their time at the college. Dr. Biju also highlighted the college's commitment to academic excellence. The highlight of the program was the keynote speech by Dr. P R Suresh, an Assistant Professor from the Department of Applied Economics at CUSAT (Cochin University of Science and Technology). Dr. Suresh shared his expertise and provided valuable insights into the field of economics. His speech was informative and inspiring, setting the tone for the academic journey ahead.. Shanil Kumar Ayyappan extended  the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all the participants, especially the guest speaker, Dr. P R Suresh, and the college principal, Dr. A. Biju. He also thanked students  for their efforts in making the event a success.
