Environment day observation has jointly been organised by Departments of Aquaculture and Fish Processing Technology. Biodiversity Club of the College also been inaugurated in the programme. The resource person for the programme was Prof. Dr. S. Bijoy Nandan, Professor, Department of Marine Biology, Microbiology and Biochemistry, Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT), Kochi. Dr. K. Kesavan, Head, Department of Aquaculture welcomed the gathering and Prof. Dr. A. Biju, Principal of the college delivered the presidential address. Prof. Dr. S. Bijoy Nandan, resource person delivered an invited talk on the topic ‘Plastic Pollution and Management’ in which he elaborated on the necessities of plastic and how it affects our ecosystem and human health. He also threw light on the measures to be taken to reduce the usage of plastic in our daily life and also about the movement towards biodegradable remedies for this necessary evil. The programme came to an end with a formal vote of thanks by Dr. Sayana K. A., Head, Fish Processing Technology.
