As part of Environment Day, The  Research and PG Department of Botany in collaboration with the Centre for Ecology Taxonomy and Climate Change (CEtC) of Western Ghats Hornbill Foundation at MES Asmabi Colleg campus organised a seminar and filed work "Plant Count at Coastal Ecorestoration sites".  The program was integrated by Mr. M.S. Mohanan, President, SN Puram Grama Panchayath and Prof. (Dr.) A. Biju was the Chief Guest. Students from college and Biodiversity clubs of the various schools including HS Panangad, MES HS P .Vemballur, Board UP School P. Vemballur etc participated. Dr. Amitha Bachan K.H. conducted the seminar session and Ms. Devika M. Anilkumar, Ecorestoration program coordinator and Mrs Syamily, AE of MGNREGA of SN Puram Panchyath did the practical training sessions. Mrs. Mini Pradeep. Ward Member, Mr. Ratheesh P.R.. BMC Convenor and Mr. Varunan, MBC member of the Panchayath and 20 MGNREGA women community members participated in the program. This was also celebrated for the success of the coastal vegetation belt restoration program along with environment day celebrations
