A recent workshop on Tackling gender-based violence (GBV) for students was held to raise awareness about this pervasive issue and to provide students with the knowledge and tools to prevent and respond to GBV. The program was conducted by Department of Psychology in Association with Counselling Cell for the college Students on 23 February 2023 at seminar hall, the session was led by Lathif Penath , Asst. Professor & Head of Department Psychology. The aim of the workshop was to raise awareness about the issue of gender-based violence, its impact on individuals and society, and ways to prevent it.The workshop began with an introduction to the topic of gender-based violence. The facilitator explained the different forms of gender-based violence, including physical, sexual, emotional, and psychological abuse. The facilitators discussed the prevalence of GBV globally and locally, emphasizing that anyone can be a survivor of GBV, regardless of their gender or sexual orientation and ways to prevent it. Mr Mohammed Areej Assistant Professor & Head Department of Bio chemistry proposed the vote of thanks.
