The restoration of damaged mangrove ecosystems in the three wards (1, 22, 23) of Eriyad Grama Panchayat has been implemented by involving  MGNREGA, with technical assistance provided by the CEtC of Hornbill Foundation. The programme commenced with the ceremonial planting of mangrove saplings by the esteemed principal guest, Shri. K.P. Rajan, President of Eriyad Grama Panchayat, and Mr. Febin Francis, Thrissur District Coordinator of the Kerala State Biodiversity Board. Dr. K.H. Amitha Bachan proceeded to deliver a speech, in which he motivated the volunteers from the Bhoomithrasea club of MES Asmabi College. He emphasized the importance of undertaking targeted ecological restoration efforts to revive damaged ecosystems, with active participation from the local community. A grand number of 32 pupils willingly participated in the mangrove plantation activity across the 1st, 22nd, and 23rd wards of Eriyad Grama Panchayath.
