Reconstitution of IEDC 2024-25
The Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Centre (IEDC) at MES Asmabi College, P. Vemballur, functions under the Kerala Startup Mission and has been instrumental in fostering innovation and entrepreneurial thinking among students since its inception in 2021. The IEDC aims to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world application by offering students exposure to startup ecosystems, mentorship opportunities, and hands-on experiences through innovation-based events and training programs.
In line with this mission, the IEDC for the academic year 2024–25 has been reconstituted with a dynamic team. Dr. Princy Francis from the Research Department of Commerce and Dr. Dhanya P R from the Department of Aquaculture serve as the nodal officers. Their leadership is supported by a dedicated student team, including Sayyid Mohamed Shiyaf M C and Afrin Yoosuf M P as Student Leads, and Ansaf V A as the Technology Lead, among others. These roles are strategically distributed to promote a collaborative environment across departments and disciplines.
The student leadership team also includes Azin Thaj (Finance Lead), Al Ameen N (Creative Lead), Mohammed Fajer P V (Branding and Marketing Lead), CM Abdul Raees (Community Lead), Ayani K A (Women Entrepreneur Lead), and Malavilaka Pradeep (IPR & Research Lead). Together, they coordinate various initiatives that encourage student entrepreneurship and innovation. Their efforts are crucial in organizing events such as hackathons, boot camps, and community outreach programs that cultivate creative thinking and entrepreneurial action.
To further enhance visibility and outreach, the IEDC actively engages through digital platforms including Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, and more. The center also provides access to its list of products and services developed under IEDC and the ED Club, promoting student-led ventures and practical applications. With a refreshed leadership and renewed focus, the IEDC at MES Asmabi College continues to empower students to become future-ready innovators and change-makers.
