The Internal Compliance Committee of MES Asmabi College, P. Vemballur, in collaboration with the National Service Scheme (NSS) unit , organized a seminar on "Eradicating Dowry: The Role of Education and Student Movements." The event aimed to shed light on the detrimental effects of the dowry system and emphasized the crucial role of education and student activism in combating this social evil. The seminar was conducted in association with the District Legal Service Authority, Thrissur, and the Taluk Legal Service Committee, Kodungallur, providing legal insights into dowry eradication and justice for affected individuals. The National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) also supported the initiative, reinforcing the commitment to ensuring access to justice for all.

The session was held on the 12th (Wednesday) at 2 PM and featured Adv. Simi P.P., a Panel Lawyer from TLSC Kodungallur, as the resource person. She addressed the audience on legal frameworks, rights, and the importance of collective efforts to eliminate the dowry system. The event aimed to empower students with knowledge and motivated them to take a stand against dowry through awareness campaigns and legal literacy. By fostering discussions on the legal and social dimensions of dowry, the seminar sought to create a progressive mindset among young individuals and instill a sense of responsibility in eradicating this harmful practice.
