seminar on The Protection of Women: Domestic Violence Act, 2005 on 11 Sept 2024

MES Asmabi College, in collaboration with the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) and legal service authorities, is set to host an insightful talk on The Protection of Women: Domestic Violence Act, 2005. The event, scheduled for September 11, 2024, at 11:00 AM in the college’s Conference Hall, aims to create awareness about legal provisions protecting women from domestic violence. This session will be led by Adv. Shimtha P.N., a panel lawyer from the Taluk Legal Services Committee (TLSC), Kodungallur. Her expertise is expected to provide attendees with valuable knowledge on legal rights, protection mechanisms, and redressal systems available under the act.

 

The program is organized by the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) in association with the District Legal Services Authority, Thrissur, and TLSC, Kodungallur. The initiative reflects the institution's commitment to fostering legal literacy and empowering women to stand against domestic abuse. Presided over by Dr. Princy Francis (ICC Presiding Officer) and supported by Dr. Reena Mohamed P.M. (Principal), this event is expected to be an enlightening session for students, faculty,and community members. Through this awareness program, MES Asmabi College continues to promote a safer and more informed society.
