Eco restoration and management of coastal ecosystems and biodiversity involving local community
A sensitisation workshop was conducted after developing a draft profile of the ecosystem and biodiversity in the SN puram Grama Panchayat. The workshop was held at the MES Asmabi college on 30th March 2021. The workshop was inaugurated by Dr Asma V M, Head of the Department of Botany, in the auspicious presence of Shri. M.S. Mohanan, President SN puram Grama Panchayat. Dr. M artin Gopurathingal, Dr. KH Amitha Bachan and Adv. Alphonsa Jojan of Western Ghats Hornbill Foundation was the resource person. Sixty participants including BMC members, farmers, members of the Kizhakootu trust other interested persons from the Panchayats, selected research fellows from different colleges around the area and local women were the participants.
