Instructions for Authors

Meridian Journal publishes Original Research Articles, Review Articles, and Short Communications. Occasionally, Conference Reports, News & Views, Perspectives, Tributes, and Book Reviews are also considered for publication.

Article Types and Length

  • Research Articles and Review Articles: Maximum 10,000 words (including references, tables, and figure legends).
  • Short Communications: Maximum 3,000 words.
  • Authors intending to submit unsolicited review articles are advised to consult the Editor-in-Chief or Editor before submission.

Manuscript Submission

Submission of a manuscript confirms that:

  • The work is original and has not been published previously.
  • The manuscript is not under consideration by another journal.
  • All authors have approved the submission.
  • Necessary institutional approvals have been obtained.

Manuscript Preparation

Title Page

The title page should include:

  • A concise and informative title.
  • Full names of all authors.
  • Institutional affiliations (department, institution, city, state, country).
  • Name and active email address of the corresponding author.
  • ORCID IDs of authors, if available.

Abstract and Keywords

  • Abstract length: 150–250 words.
  • The abstract should avoid undefined abbreviations and references.
  • Include 4–6 keywords suitable for indexing.

Text Formatting

  • Manuscripts must be prepared in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx).
  • Use a standard font such as 10-point Times New Roman.
  • Italics may be used for emphasis.
  • Pages should be numbered consecutively.
  • Use no more than three levels of headings.

Abbreviations and Footnotes

  • Define abbreviations at first mention and use them consistently thereafter.
  • Footnotes may be used to provide supplementary information or reference citations.

Acknowledgments

Acknowledgments should be presented in a separate section and may include:

  • Contributions from individuals.
  • Funding sources and grant details.
  • Institutional support.

Names of funding organizations should be written in full.

References

In-Text Citation

References should be cited using the author–year system in parentheses.

Reference List

  • Include only references cited in the manuscript.
  • References should be arranged alphabetically by the first author's surname.
  • Follow the APA referencing style.
  • Personal communications and unpublished data should be cited only within the text and not included in the reference list.

Tables and Figures

Tables

  • Number tables consecutively using Arabic numerals (Table 1, Table 2, etc.).
  • Cite all tables in the text in numerical order.
  • Provide a clear and descriptive caption for each table.

Figures

  • Number figures consecutively using Arabic numerals.
  • Cite figures in the text in numerical order.
  • Label figure components with lowercase letters (a, b, c, etc.).
  • Include concise and informative figure captions.
  • Figures should be embedded within the manuscript text whenever possible. Large figures may be submitted separately if file size becomes an issue.

Ethical Responsibilities of Authors

Authors are expected to maintain the highest standards of research integrity and publication ethics.

Authors must ensure that:

  • The manuscript is not submitted simultaneously to another journal.
  • The work is original and unpublished in any language or format.
  • Data are presented accurately and honestly without fabrication, falsification, or inappropriate manipulation.
  • Proper credit is given to the work of others.
  • Any reproduced or copyrighted material has the necessary permissions.
  • Plagiarism in any form, including direct copying, paraphrasing without attribution, or presenting others' ideas as one's own, is strictly prohibited.

Adherence to these guidelines will facilitate a smooth review process and help maintain the scientific quality and integrity of the journal.
