IPR Cell (Intellectual Property Rights)

Overview

An Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Cell is a specialized unit, commonly within universities or research institutions, that facilitates the identification, protection, and commercialization of intellectual property. It educates faculty and students on patents, copyrights, and trademarks, while managing the filing process for inventions. IPR Cell of MES Asmabi college is conducting activities related to intellectual property rights. IPR cell signed a MOU with IPR cell of St. Peter's College, Kolenchery on 29-07-2022 and both the institutions together conducting a certificate course on IPR. The IPR cell also providing guidance to the faculties for applying patents for their innovations.

Key Functions and Objectives of an IPR Cell

Awareness & Education : Organizes workshops, seminars, and training to create awareness about IPR among researchers, staff, and students.

Patent Support : Guides inventors in patentability assessment, drafting patent applications, and filing necessary forms.

IP Policy Development : Establishes and implements the institution's IP policy to manage inventions legally.

Commercialization & Technology Transfer : Facilitates partnerships with industry for commercializing intellectual property and technology transfer.

Confidentiality & Compliance : Ensures the confidentiality of invention details and manages compliance with legal authorities
