Overview

The Department of Zoology was established in 1968 as a subsidiary department. Zoology was then offered as a subject for B.Sc. Botany and Pre-Degree students. In 1995, B.Sc. Aquaculture was introduced in the college, with Zoology as one of the subsidiary subjects. The department is equipped with a well-maintained laboratory. It stands for academic excellence in all respects. The faculty members are actively involved in research and have national and international publications.

Vision

Our vision is to establish a student-friendly, independent, and practice-oriented Department of Zoology that promotes higher education teaching, and research. The department strives to develop responsible and skilled professionals in animal sciences, foster awareness on animal welfare and biodiversity conservation and offer transformative, holistic, and value-based learning experiences.

Mission

The mission of the Department of Zoology is to promote excellence in undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate education and research. The faculty members of the department work closely with students to guide them in planning their academic programs, engaging in research activities, and pursuing specialized internship opportunities.
