Started in 1969 with Pre Degree, later upgraded to a subsidiary department for BSc Bio Physics in 1999 and BSc Mathematics in 2001, the department of Physics became a full-fledged under graduate department in 2010 by converting B.Sc. Bio Physics to B.Sc. Physics with Mathematics and Chemistry as Complementary Courses. In 2020 it became a post graduate department with Nanotechnology as specialization. The department is blessed with the service of eminent faculty members from its beginning. The department maintains separate state-of-the-art laboratories for UG and PG classes
